Truly the biggest revelation, the widely-criticized disaster that was season 3 of One-Punch Man failed to deter more episodes. The show will be back with a follow-up batch of episodes in 2027—so far away they easily could have called it season 4. Adding to the surprise, the studio J.C. Staff will remain leading the project. Thankfully this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the outset, which is seen as a hopeful indicator. But, the key visual for the second cour is the same image the one used for season 3, just with characters Saitama and Garou looking opposite ways. This leads one to believe that, by now, they are probably teasing the fans.

The manga by Masaoki Shindo gained a huge following when it debuted in 2022 after just a handful of installments, but then went into a lengthy break due to the creator's health issues. When it resumed publication with a lighter schedule, the series proved it maintained the fans' support and goodwill, and now fans are thrilled about the impending KyoAni adaptation.
